Tropical Froggy ~ CCMC546, TGIFC196

Hello there stampers! Today's card is for Create with Connie and Mary's new sketch challenge #546.  I chose to flip the sketch on the side and use it that way.  I'm also participating in TGIF Challenges #196: Pick a Pattern.  I used Tropical Escape DSP for my patterned paper.
I thought this DSP went nicely with the fun new stamp set from Sale-a-bration called So Hoppy Together.  These cute frogs are sure fun to color with blends markers.  I used Granny Apple Green, Light Smokey Slate, and Light Flirty Flamingo.
I also incorporated some green organdy ribbon from the Sale-a-bration pack.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Piece of Wedding Cake ~ HSS306, TGIFC194

Hello Stampers!  Today's card is for Hand Stamped Sentiments Color Challenge #306.  I've also used the sketch from TGIF Challenges #194.
These colors seemed kinda wedding-ish to me so I used one of the cakes from the new set Piece of Cake.  I stamped it in black and colored it with my blender pen and ink from the lid of my pads.
It really is a "piece of cake" to use this set with the cake builder punch!
At first I left the white panel blank but I felt it looked too plain, so I added some punched Itty Bitty Punch flowers with gold pearl centers.  I think they compliment the gold accents on the card.

I hope you'll be able to play along with our challenge at HSS.  It goes for two weeks!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Beautiful Day Thinking of You ~ CCMC523, JUGS453, TGIFC172

Hello Stampers!  Today's card comes by way of the newest Create with Connie and Mary Color Challenge #523.  It's a nice mix of three new colors: Mango Melody, Pineapple Punch, and Shaded Spruce.  Last time I used Mango Melody I stated that I was not that excited about the color and then surprised myself how much I like it after the card was made.  I think I've found that this color has really grown on me.  It's not that attractive on it's own, but when combined with other colors it becomes so rich and vibrant!  I was kinda excited to use this color mix!
I decided to go with the Just Us Girls trend week challenge #453 and use the fast watercolor technique.  First you embossed your image, in my case the big flower from Beautiful Day, then you lay the color on the image straight from the pad, and then you spritz the whole thing with water and let the colors do their thing.  Really fairly easy.  I used Pineapple Punch and Mango Melody on my embossed image and then after the whole thing dried I added some Soft Suede to the middle of the flower.  I cut the leaf off the flower before laying the inks on and then replaced it after all the inks had dried.  I wanted to keep the green separate from the orange and yellow.
I also used the sketch from TGIF Challenges #172.  I followed the sketch pretty strictly.  If you look closely at the sketch you'll see a little flourish on the top panel.  I added a bit of embossing with my Lovely Floral TIEF to mimic that element.
All in all I'm happy with the way this turned out!

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Beautiful Day, Accented Blooms (sentiment)
Ink: Mango Melody, Pineapple Punch, Shaded Spruce, Versamark, Basic Black, Soft Suede
Paper: Shaded Spruce, Wood Textures DSP, Basic Black, Watercolor, Mango Melody, Pineapple Punch
Accessories: Black embossing powder, metallic sequins, Lovely Floral TIEF, Linen Thread, Tailored Tag punch (for cuts on the banner), decorative ribbon border punch

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Saffron Pacific Poppy Hello ~ CCMC422, TGIFC171, AYSI131

Hello stampers!  I've got a two for one sketch challenge for our Create With Connie and Mary challenge this week.  I knew I wanted to use Accented Blooms and I wanted to incorporate the colors from TGIF challenge #171 which were So Saffron, Poppy Parade, and Pacific Point.  I also decided to watercolor again (an obsession), which is why I played along with As You See It's obsession challenge #131. I must also say that I'm obsessed with embossing folders in general but especially the basket weave one!
The first card I made is below.  After I made it I wasn't too sure about the combination of thee colors and the layout, so I redid it (above), only this time I used Blends markers and blender pens with ink pads to add the color to the flowers.  After finishing the second card, which was a bit more subtle and monochromatic, I couldn't decide which one I liked best.  I even polled my family and they came up undecided as well, so I thought I'd just go ahead a post them both!  I chose to go with the more monochromatic one as my main card for the post, since it fit the sketch just a little better.  I just love the mesh polka dot ribbon for embellishing cards like this.  It adds a bit of texture and fun but doesn't over-power the card at all.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
card #1
Stamps: Accented Blooms
Ink: Poppy Parade, Mint Macron, & Daffodil Delight Blends markers; So Saffron, Pacific Point, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Whisper White, So Saffron
Accessories: Polka dot tulle ribbon, Basket weave TIEF, Tailored Tag punch

card #2
Stamps: Accented Blooms
Ink: Poppy Parade, Pacific Point, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake, Stazon Black
Paper: Watercolor, Whisper White, So Saffron, Pacific Point, Poppy Parade
Accessories: Pacific Point Stitched ribbon, Basket weave TIEF, rhinestones

So, there you have it!  Two for one sketch challenge!  I hope you'll be able to play along with us at CCMC this week!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Berry Bursting Basket ~ CCMC498, JUG428, TGIFC147

Hello stampers!  Today's card is for Create with Connie and Mary's newest sketch challenge.  I was so excited to use some brand new Sale-a-bration items.  The Blossoming Basket and Basket weave Dynamic Texture embossing folder are available for free with a $100 purchase!  The Celebrate You Thinlits are also available for free with a $100 purchase.  There's lots of other great items in the Sale-a-bration catalog that you can get for free with a $50 purchase as well.
I used the color inspiation from Just Us Girls #428 and went with Berry Burst, Bermuda Bay, and Crumb Cake.  I added in some black with the Petal Palette DSP.  I actually colored the blossoms in the basket with my Rich Razzleberry Blends markers, but I think it goes very nicely with the Berry Burst, don't you?  The butterfly and leaves were colored with my Bermuda Bay Blends and the basket was done with the Crumb Cake Blends.
Because most items used on my card come from the Sale-A-Bration catalog I'm also joining in with TGIF Challenge #147.  I just have to say how much I LOVE the Dymanic Embossing Folders.  I adore the great texture they provide!  As soon as I saw the basketweave pattern I knew it had to be in my collection!  It's so cool, right?!

I finished my card off with a little wink of stella on the butterfly and the "amazing".

Thanks for taking a peek and I hope you'll join us on the Create with Connie and Mary Facebook page with your creations!

Beautiful Peacock Friend ~ CCMC491, TGIFC140

Hello stampers and welcome to another color challenge for the Create with Connie and Mary Challenge site!  Isn't this a wonderfully rich combination?  At first I was not a fan of these colors but as I started to brainstorm about them I decided that they might fit nicely with the new Beautiful Peacock set from the Sale-A-Bration catalog!  I think I was right!  I started out by inking the bottom half of the tail feathers in Peekaboo Peach and then the top half in Berry Burst.  I took a sponge dauber, dipped it in the Berry Burst ink and then blended the colors together on the stamp.  I gave it a good huff before I stamped it on my cardstock.  I did the same thing with the swirly tail feathers.  I stamped the body in Bermuda Bay.
I CASE'd designer Tami Hewlett's card from TGIF Challenges 140 to help me with my card.  I turned my card vertical but kept the same sketch.

For the background I used some Fabulous Foil Designer Acetate.  I tied in the gold by added three little gold faceted gems.
I actually love the way this card came out!  I really thought I would struggle with these colors, but this came together fairly quick!
I hope you'll find time to play along with us!  Just add your card to the CCMC Facebook page!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Beautiful Peacock
Paper: Berry Burst, Bermuda Bay, Peekaboo Peach, White, Fabulous Foil Designer acetate
Ink: Berry Burst, Peekaboo Peach, Bermuda Bay
Accessories: Gold Faceted Gems, White Bakers Twine, Layered Leaves Dynamic Folder

Black Kitty ~ HSS275, PP366, TGIFC129

Hey, hey, hey!  It's Hand Stamped Sentiments inspiration challenge time!  I love inspiration challenges.  There are so many options!  I chose to go with the black cat theme and add a sunflower, pumpkin and incorporate the purple background color.  I think by adding the purple it says Halloween and not just fall.  I'm also adding my creation to the list at The Paper Players clean and simple spooky challenge #366.  I feel with all the open space this is pretty clean and simple.  I also used the sketch from TGIF challenges #129.

I stamped my kitty in Memento black ink.  It's not a true black and sort of looks muted, which is what I was going for.  I wanted to be able to see his whiskers, nose, eyes, and mouth when I stamped and embossed them.
His little bow tie is the kite bow from the set Swirly Bird.  I also used it as the stem on the pumpkin.  The pumpkin is the weird, oblong shape from Lovely Inside and Out.  I thought it resembled a pumpkin.
I layered the kitty and pumpkin on a cute sunflower cut from the Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies, Stitched Circles dies, and layering circles dies.

Thanks for taking a peek and I hope to see you play along with us at HSS!
