Striped Poppy ~ CCMC417

Happy Thursday stampers!  It's Create with Connie and Mary challenge day!  This week is sketch week and look at this dandy!  It was a little perplexing to me at first.  My interpretation is looser this week.  I pretty much just went with the stripe theme.....and my stripes are running the opposite direction too.  I'm happy with my end result though!

I used a new set called {Penned and Painted}.  I think this will be a really cool set to do lots of experimenting with.  I can see all kinds of techniques used with this set.

For this card I stamped the images twice, fussy cut them all out and layered them together, curling up the edges of the top layer.  I was trying to make the flower resemble a poppy.
The stripes are stamped with the big background stamp called {Brushstrokes}.  Very cool.  I like how both of the stamps look watercolored although I  assure you there was none of that this go around.

I even had to find a way to include the little ladybug from the set...it's simply adorable!!!

I hope you'll find time to join us over at CCMC and participate in this interesting sketch challenge!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Foxy Baby ~ HSS243, JUGS353

Hello stampers!  It's Tuesday and time for another Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge.  Challenge #243 is a sketch.
I just received my {Foxy Friends} stamp set, along with the Fox Builder punch so I thought I'd put it to use right away.  I chose to use the color scheme from Just Us Girls photo challenge #353.  I think the colors are the perfect fit for this little guy.  I was also going to participate in the Addicted to CAS "Welcome" challenge but then I realized that my card is neither clean or simple!  Oh well!

My card doesn't follow the sketch exactly, but sometimes I like a loose interpretation!

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Foxy Friends, And Many More
Ink: Black, Early Espresso, Dapper Denim, Pumpkin Pie, Pear Pizzazz, Old Olive
Paper: Peekaboo Peach, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla, Dapper Denim
Accessories: Fox Builder punch, Petal Burst EF, Burlap Ribbon, Striped Grosgrain ribbon

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Peace and Joy ~ CCMC416

Hello stampers and happy Thursday!  Create with Connie and Mary time is upon us once again!  We've got an elegant, fun color trio for you this time.

This was actually the second card I made with this color combo.  I searched and searched for inspiration and finally decided on coloring a little blue crab from {You're Sublime}.  As soon as I finished putting that card together (which it was Ok, but not my favorite), BAM, this idea hit me!

I pulled out my brayer, made a night sky with the Mint and Denim and added in the trees from {Lovely as a Tree} in Taupe.
The layered up die cut "Peace" is one of my favorite techniques.  I really love the look of it.
This card came together very quickly once the idea hit!  And, I like it much better than my little blue crab....although he's kinda cute.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Swirly Sugarplum Rose ~ CCMC415 & PP303

Happy Thursday!  It's time for Create with Connie and Mary once again!  This week is sketch week. I kept it pretty straight forward this time and didn't take any real creative license this time.  I used the color combo from the Paper Players 303, too.  Isn't it rich yet fresh looking?

I haven't yet used the flower image from {Swirly Bird} so here it is!  I kind of like this repeated pattern of the swirly flower.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Swirly Bird, Picture Perfect
Ink: Sweet Sugarplum, Island Indigo, Mint Macaron
Paper: Mint Macaron, Island Indigo, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Bermuda Bay sequin trim, Mint Macaron lace trim

Thanks for taking a peek and have a great day!

Americana Flowers ~ HSS242, WWYS72, PPA308

Hello my fellow stampers!!!  Happy Tuesday!  Today's card is for Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #242: a color challenge.
With a red, white and blue color combo one tends to think about stars and stripes, the 4th of July, or nautical....at least I do anyway!  I really tried my best to think outside the box and not go there.  I saw What Will You Stamp challenge #72 using {You're Sublime} and I thought perhaps I could blend the two challenges!  I also found Pals Paper Arts #308, which was a nice sketch challenge.  I REALLY love it when I can combine several challenges into one!  It's so fun!

I took a country/Americana type approach with this card.  I colored the flowers and wheel barrow with my blender pen and ink pads.
The pin-dot Cherry Cobbler background paper adds the country feel, as well as the barnwood paper (which I sponged) and the burlap ribbon.
The new banner punch was just right to add the sentiment on top of the flowers.

I added some Crystal Effects (now retired ... boo) to the flowers to make them stand out just a little bit more.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: You're Sublime, Thoughtful Banners
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Dapper Denim, Crumb Cake, So Saffron, Stazon Black
Paper: Dapper Denim, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Farmers Market DSP
Accessories: Blender pen, Banner punch, Oval Framelits, Burlap Ribbon, Ruched Ribbon, Crystal Effects

I hope you'll be able to join us at Hand Stamped Sentiments and remember, the challenge runs for two weeks!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

No Line Orange Flower ~ CCMC414 & TSOT278

Thursday!!!  Create with Connie and Mary!!! Yay!!!!!
We have a neat color combo for you to work your magic with this week!  I also chose to use the sketch from Try Stampin' On Tuesday #278.
Well, I just can't seem to stop watercoloring!  I tried to use my markers with this image first, but it just wasn't working out the way I wanted it to, so back to the good old aqua painter and ink pads!  I also used the no line watercolor technique again.  I like the look that it achieves.  I do have to say that this is not my best work ever, but oh well!

I did mix in a couple of neutrals on my card as well.  I used Sahara Sand and Early Espresso.

Here's a list of my supplies.....
Stamps: Butterfly Basics, Timeless Textures, Thoughtful Banners
Ink: Peek-a-boo Peach, Tangerine Tango, Cucumber Crush, Sahara Sand, Early Espresso
Paper: Tangerine Tango, Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand, Watercolor, Playful Palette DSP
Accessories: Linen thread, Duet Banner punch

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
