Celebration for FM209 & FMS186

Hey everyone!  It's my third week of being a guest designer over at The Friday Mashup and boy am I having a great time creating for the challenges!  This week we have a Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy color combo mashed up with celebrations.  I picked graduation for my celebration, since I always need so many of those cards this time of year.

I also used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches 186.

Bloom with Connie and Mary ~ CCMC355

Hey friends!  It's Thursday, so that means another Create With Connie and Mary challenge!  This week we have a great sketch for you.....this can totally go in soooooo many directions.

I needed to keep it fairly simple.  I'm also trying to use all the stamp sets that are retiring before they are gone!  I'm really gonna miss {Bloom With Hope}.  It has such an awesome variety of pretty colorable flowers.

Make sure you hop over to Create with Connie and Mary and check out the inspiration from the other DT members!  They are awesome!

Painted Petals Colour Me Catty ~ CMCC71 & CTC29

Hello!  It's Colour Me Wednesday again!  This week is the yummy combo of Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzaz.....mmmmm, doesn't that sound delightful!  Anyway, our design team has come up with some pretty amazing creations to inspire you!

I also used the sketch from CASEing the Catty #29.
I kept it pretty simple....just some pretty flowers, a couple butterflies and some black to make the brighter colors pop.

Make sure you check out the Colour Me DT blogs!

Stained Glass Butterfly ~ FM208

Hey everyone, it's Friday!  This is my second week as a guest designer at The Friday Mashup for the month of May.  This week's challenge is to create a Mother's Day card and use recycled/upcycled items.  For mine I used a recycled mother-of-pearl button (which I thought was appropriate for Mother's Day!) and I also upcycled packaging tape to make the stained glass look on the butterfly cut-out.
I also used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches 185.

The stained glass technique is so cool and fun....and easy!  It produces some flashy results too! Here's a great video by LeeAnn Greff on how to do the Stained Glass Technique.

I just love all the sparkle this produces!!!!
Be sure to visit the Friday Mashup DT and leave them some blog love!

Southwestern Feathers ~ CCMC354

Happy Thursday everyone!  It's time for Create with Connie and Mary's Thursday Challenge.  This time we have a super cool color combo for you.  I went with very geometrical patterns, which normally isn't my thing.  I like it with the feathers though.  It gives it a little bit of a southwestern feel.

Make sure you check out the creations from the others on the design team!

Blushing Congrats ~ CMCC70

Good Wednesday morning everyone!  Today's challenge comes by way of Colour Me!  We have a monochromatic challenge this week....Crisp Cantaloupe.  Now, apparently I neglected to read the color challenge and only went by sight...I thought it was Blushing Bride, so that's the color I used.  Oops!  I'm happy with the results anyway!

I thought this color would look pretty all done up in pink, pearls, flowers and vellum...oh yeah, and a little lace!
Make sure you check out the amazing work for the others on the DT!

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Your Perfect Day
Ink: versamark
Paper: Blushing Bride, Something Borrowed DSP, White
Accessories: Bitty punch pack, pearls, White EP, Scallop Border punch, Sahara Sand lace trim, Blushing Bride cotton ribbon

The Friday Mashup + Me! FM207

Happy Friday everyone!  I am delighted to announce that I've been chosen to be one of May's guest designers by some awesome ladies over at The Friday Mashup!  I'm elated to get to work along side this wonderfully talented group.
Our challenge this week calls for you to use the sketch or use a retiring/retired/forgotten set....or do the mashup and combine both!

I used my {Flamingo Lingo} which I've loved since the first day I laid eyes on it way back last year!  This fun set just begs to be colored up in brights.  I also used a retired punch, Build a Blossom, to make the leaves on the palm tree.  I cut little notches out of each leaf to form the palms.
The other fun element to this card is that it's a shaker.  These are just a blast to make and so fun to receive!

Flamingo Lingo was the set that Stampin' Up had chosen last year as the Ronald McDonald House donation set.  What a wonderful thing....you get to buy cool, fun products and do a good deed at the same time.  As much as I'm going to miss this flamingo set, I did get a sneak peek at the new catalog today and the new Ronald McDonald House set.  Wow, is it ever cute!  It's got loads of versatility and It's definitely going straight to the top of my wish list!  I can't wait to get my hands on it and share projects with you!  It makes me giddy with excitement just thinking about it!

Thanks again to the gals over at The Friday Mashup for letting my hang out for the month!
