Swirly Watercolor Smile ~ CCMC464

Hello Stampers!  This is our last CASE the Catalog challenge from Create with Connie and Mary.  I sure have enjoyed them!  This time we got to pick one of four cards to case.  I chose the bottom right card.  Mine was sort of a loose case.  I love the way these swirly bird flowers look when they're watercolored.  The colors of Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo compliment each other so nicely too!  They mix so beautifully.  I also watercolored a bit with Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide and cut out the leaves.
The background is the new big background stamp Canvas.  I love this one too!  The side pieces of DSP are from Whole Lot of Love DSP pack.  I added in some new iridescent sequins just because they complimented the colors of the flowers so well.

Here's a list of my supplies....
Stamps: Swirly Bird, Eastern Beauty, Canvas
Ink: Peekaboo Peach, Pool Party, Flirty Flamingo, Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, White, VersaMark
Paper: Pool Party, Whole Lot of Love DSP, White
Accessories: Swirly Scribbles thinlits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Iridescent Sequins, Clear EP

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!  As usual, I appreciate and enjoy your comments!

Jar of Love Fireflies ~ HSS267, PP350

Hello Stampers!  It's time for a Hand Stamped Sentiments color challenge and look at this festive trio we've got this time!  I used the sketch for The Paper Players #350 to help me along with my card.
When I first saw the new color Lemon Lime Twist I didn't think I'd use it much....turns out I love it!  What a fun, summery, bright, cheerful color!  I just love it as the light on the fireflies butts!  Isn't that just so cute?!?!

I embossed the lid of the jar with silver embossing powder and tied it together with a few silver sequins.  I really love the way this came out.  We will be celebrating my nieces 17th birthday today and this card is going to her.  I know she'll love it!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
As always I appreciate and enjoy reading your comments!

Weathered Hardwood Sea Birds ~ CCMC463, PP349

Hello fellow stampers!  Create with Connie and Mary is back with another case the catalog challenge!  I've had a bunch of fun with these challenges.  I used the layout as inspiration for my card this week.  I'm also entering it into The Paper Players feathered friends challenge.  I know my card isn't real clean and simple, but I like it that way!
I started out with this piece of yellow dsp from the color theory stack.  This was a left over piece from a project I did a couple weeks ago.  I stamped it with my Hardwood stamp in crumb cake ink.  I like the look of weathered wood it gives.  I also stamped the seagulls directly onto the dsp in early espresso stamped off one time.  The little chunk of blue paper is also from Color Theory.  I stamped the main beach scene with various stamps from the set {High Tide}.  I added a little strip of Early Espresso punched with new Ticket Tear border punch.
Lastly, I stamped the Early Espresso background piece with the wave stamp from {High Tide}.  I like the extra "texture" it adds.

I hope you'll join us in this week's challenge.  Just upload your project to the Create with Connie and Mary facebook page!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Hey Friend! CCMC462, PP348

Hey friends!  It's time for another Create with Connie and Mary challenge!  The whole month of June is dedicated to casing the new catty.  This week we were challenged to case either the layout or color combo on this card from page 43.  I chose to go with the layout and use the color combo for The Paper Players this week.  The colors are really fresh and fun!
I used new products as well as some oldies that made the cut into the new catalog.  The new is the Lovely Words thinlits, Color Theory DSP, and Eastern Palace DSP.  Older products that I used are the Petal Burst EF, paper doily, Jar of Love stamp set, and some Wink of Stella (on the word friend....it's hard to see in the photo).

I totally love how this turned out and will definitely use this layout again in the future!  Although now that I'm looking at it I see that I have my big banner tipping the opposite direction from the inspiration one...oops!

I hope you'll find time to play along with us.  Just add your card to the Create with Connie and Mary page over on Facebook!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Rustic Delightful Daisy ~ HSS266, CTS225

Hey stampers!  Hand Stamped Sentiments is back with a new inspiration challenge.  Inspiration challenges happen to be among my favorite and this one totally rocks!  I love all the worn, weathered woods along with the pretty white and yellow flowers!
I also used CAS(E) this sketch to help me out with my design.
I started with a piece to Color Theory DSP in Daffodil Delight.  I stamped over the top of it with my Hardwood stamp inked in Crumb Cake.  I also sponged a little more Crumb Cake on top to make it look a little more distressed.  The piece of Crumb Cake was run through the Big Shot with the Hexagons Dynamic folder rubbed with Crumb Cake ink.

For the Daisy, I stamped it twice in White craft ink and embossed it with gold embossing powder.  I layered them together and stamped the center of the flower with Daffodil Delight.  The daisy is perched on another piece of DSP from Color Theory, which I distressed.  Lastly, I tied a bit of Linen Thread around to add to the rustic feel and stamped the cute sentiment from {Eastern Beauty} stamp set below the daisy.

I hope you'll play along with us at HSS!  Remeber that our challenges always run for two weeks.
Thanks for taking a peek and I always appreciate your comments!

Daper Denim Daisy Case ~ CCMC461

Welcome to our second Case The Catalog Challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.  We could either use the color combo or the layout of the card on page 18 of the new catalog.  I chose to go with the layout and used two new sets....Daisy Delight and Eastern Beauty.  I also used some cool paper from the DSP stack called Color Theory.  Also featured on this card are two new in-colors...Lemon Lime Twist and Berry Burst.  I paired them with Daper Denim.  I love the cracked paint look paper from the Color Theory pack.

We look forward to having you join us via the Create with Connie and Mary Facebook page!
Thanks for taking a peek and as always I appreciate you comments!

Nailed It 60 ~ CCMC460

Hello stampers!  Welcome to something new from Create with Connie and Mary!  For the next month we will be CASEing the new catalog!  This is going to be so much fun!
This week we were challenged to use either the color scheme or the layout from this card on page 30 of the 2017-18 catalog.  I chose to go with the layout.  I needed a 60th birthday card for my uncle who's having a party on Saturday.  We are excited to celebrate with him and of course he needs a special card from me!

I'm sad that they didn't carry the {Nailed it} set over from the occasions catalog into the new one.....it's such a great masculine set.  I figured I'd give it another go before it retires.  Of course I'm not getting rid of it, but it's sad when sets retire.

Pop on over to the CCMC blog and check out my fellow designers cards.  They are all pretty amazing!  Then, create your own design and post it on the Create with Connie and Mary Facebook page.
Thanks for taking a peek and as always I appreciate your comments!
