Springtime Window - MOJO242

This card qualifies for Mojo Monday 242 sketch challenge.

This sweet little scene is going to be sent to my Aunt and Uncle who recently moved into their brand new house after their old one was flooded in record setting flood of 2011 in Minot, ND.  While they miss their old home, they are thrill with the beautiful new place they have.

I wanted to keep the card light and fun for them.  I used a stamp set from Close To My Heart called "Flower Pot".  After embossing it with black embossing powder, I watercolored everything in and sponged some clouds inside the window view.  I fussy cut the flowers out and popped them up with dimentionals.  I added the embosslit butterflies, paper button (cut from the buttons #5 die), and a tiny tag to bring it all together.
I hope my Aunt and Uncle enjoy this card as well as their new home!
Here's a list of supplies I used.....
Stamps: Flower Pot, Say It In Style, Polka Dot backround
Paper: Bashful Blue, Pretty In Pink, Wisteria Wonder, White
Ink: Versa Mark, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue (sponging on clouds)
Accessories: Watercolor pencils, black EP, swirls EF, Buttons #5 sizzix die, Beautiful Wings embosslits, Wisteria ruffled ribbon, tag punch, white string, dotted scallop ribbon border

Simply Poppy Pool

I wasn't sure about the colors together, but I'm very pleased with the final results.  The black and white polka dots are what pulled it all together for me.  I'm a sucker for polka dots....I just love them all!

Blue Hue Grad - OCCC

It's a sketch challenge over at Our Creative Corner this week.  This is my card for that sketch.
Hmmmm....as I post this I see the instructions say "Please include a ribbon bow on your project".  Well, I included a ribbon.  Does that count????  I sure hope so!  Whoopsie, maybe I should have read the directions more carefully. I also see, as I post, that my first picture is blury.  Boo, hiss.  The little tassle detail doesn't show up very good.  I used silver cord for a tassle, which coordinates with the silver sparkle paper.  I really love the sparkle paper for these grad cards...it adds so much, and a little bit goes a long way!
Here's a list of supplies....
Stamps: Great Grad, So Happy for You,
Paper: Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, Going Gray, Black, White, Silver Sparkle
Ink: Black, Navy
Accessories: Baja ribbon, scallop oval and oval punch, star punch, top note die, ribbon border punch, swirly EF, basic rhinestone

Retro Grad Owl

I absolutely love the owl builder punch made into a graduation card.  Doesn't he look smart?  This card is for Retro Sketches #11.  I was also inspired by this card by Mary at Stampin Pretty.
Here's a look at this weeks retro sketch
I used the tree bark embossing folder on the early esspresso base card...I think it mimics a tree very nicely, don't you?  I free hand cut a graduation hat and added a little tiny diploma tucked into his wing, while the other wing is holding the congratulations banner.  I loved they way Mary's card open, and chose to follow her lead there, only mine closes by tying the ribbon....I think this is called a gate fold???  Correct me if I'm wrong here.
Here's a list of supplies I used.....
Stamps: Great Grad
Paper: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Bravo Burgandy, Black, White, Pear Pizzaz
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: Owl Builder punch, Scallop Oval punch, Burgandy grosgrain ribbon, mini brad, gold cord

Dynamic Duo Graduation

Gee, I guess I've been MIA for a bit. I've been enjoying thumbing through the NEW Stampin' Up catalog and absorbing all kinds of ideas and inspiration. Plus, I have been busy at my desk stamping more graduation cards.  Most of our graduations take place at the end of May, so I'm pretty much done.  I have a few more cards that I will share on my blog here in the next few days.

Todays card is for my first Dynamic Duo Challenge. This is a brand new site and is only the second week of challenges.  The idea is to use only two colors on your creation, plus you can add neutrals.  This week the colors were So Saffron and Pool Party.

I used a couple neutrals with this color duo....first edition specialty paper, a little bit of silver sparkle paper and a touch of crumb cake.  I like the soft colors together with the pop of sparkle.  I paper pierced and faux stitched the main panel to add a little something extra.
Supplies
Stamps: Happy Graduation
Paper: So Saffron, First Edition Specialty paper, Pool Party DP, Crumb cake, Very Vanilla, Silver Sparkle
Ink: Pool Party, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Star die, paper Piercing tool, itty bitty punch pack, houndstooth EF, ruffled pool party ribbon, basic rhinestones

ColourQ & Mojo combo

Today's card does double duty for ColourQ 135 and Mojo Monday 239.  The color combo was perfect for the designer paper I had from K&Co called Wild Saffron.  I love the daisies with the yellow polka dot centers.  The coordinating paper looks like notebook paper and I thought that tied in well with the school/grad theme. I faux stitched with my mat pack and Early Espresso marker to give the card a little extra "umph".  Pretty sweet and simple.

Here's a list of the supplies......
Stamps: TLC from Close To My Heart
Paper: Early Espresso, Pool Party textured, Ruby Red, Wild Saffron DP from K&Co.
Ink: Early Espresso
Accessories: Ruby Red button, Ruffles Pool Party ribbon, Scallop Border punch, Modern Label punch, Mat Pack, cream colored string

Green & Yellow Grad - RS9 & PPC93

The next graduation card comes by way of Retro Sketches Challenge 9 and The Paper Players 93.  This weeks Paper Players was one of their fun tic-tac-toe challenges and I picked the combo of wet or dry emboss/ my choice/ yellow & green.  One of the girls we recieved a grad announcement from loves the Green Bay Packers, so the green and yellow theme works perfect for her card!
I fussy cut the green stars from a Close To My Heart set called Shining Star.  I combined them with the Great Grad sentiment from Stampin' Up.
I finished things off with some bakers twine, basic rhinestone stickers and some dazzling diamonds glitter on the stars.

Here's a list of supplies I used.....
Stamps: Shining Star (CTMH), Great Grads (SU)
Paper: Daffodil Delight, White
Ink: Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Swiss Dot EF, bakers twine, dazzling diamonds glitter, rhinestone basics

Sweet Happy Grad - SSSC157 & CR84FN53

I loved this sketch when I first saw it and couldn't wait to create something for it!  I also love, love, love the soft, pretty colors for the CR84FN challenge.  As I mentioned in other posts, I need graduation cards, so here is yet another. Obviously this one is for a girl! I imagine that my posts will mostly contain graduation cards for a bit.
I knew I wanted to use designer paper for the flag banners on the sketch, and when going through my stash, I realized that I don't really have any Regal Rose DP.  I scoured my scrap box and finally came up with a small piece of paper which was part of the very first designer paper pack I bought.  It's several years old and I'm suprised I still had it.  Moral of the story is I guess it's good to keep scraps and I also need to invest in some Regal Rose DP!
Here's my list of supplies.....
Stamp: Happy Grad
Paper: Crumb Cake, White, Regal Rose, In color DP (pool party), other DP (it's so old I don't even know the name anymore!)
Ink: Pool Party, Regal Rose, Crumb Calke
Accessories: Neutrals button, Star punch, 1/8" pink ribbon, Ruffled ribbon, Swirls EF, Mat Pack
