Peaceful Scene ~ CCMC370

Hey stampers!  It's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday and we've got a super fun color challenge for you this week!
Aren't these colors gorgeous together?

This was a chance for me to play with my new goodies from the Holiday Catalog again.  I brayered Pool Party ink directly onto the Woodland embossing folder and ran it through my big shot.  Next, I stamped the little bird from {Sprinkles of Life} in Watermelon Wonder ink and stamped it on Watermelon Wonder cardstock.  I punched it out with the coordinating Tree Builder punch and adhered the bird to a branch using a mini glue dot.
Next, I added a strip of Black Glimmer paper, which is also new in the Holiday Catalog, and some black bakers twine.  I topped it off with a partial Word Window punch with the sentiment "Peace" from {Happy Scenes}.  A pearl completes the nice little scene.
This card was so fast to complete.....It could be a contender for my Christmas card this year!

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

My First HSS Team Design! HSS219

Hello everyone!  I am so please to announce that I am now part of the Hand Stamped Sentiments design team!  I'm thrilled!
Our challenges are every two weeks, and this times challenge is an inspiration photo brought to us by Linda Gilmore.  I chose to "hop" on the lily pad photo and use that as my "jumping" off point!  LOL!  I thought I'd throw some from puns in there!

I've been having a blast with the {You're Sublime} stamp set from the new catalog.  There are just too many cute images to play with!  They just beg to be colored bright and fun!

The main tag panel is Cucumber Crush and for the lily pad I used the fabulous retired Gumball Green.  I thought they complimented each other nicely and were fun frog colors.  The one think I forgot to put on my card was a little lily flower....wish I had remembered because I think it would have "hopped" it up a notch!
I hope you find time to play with us over at Hand Stamped Sentiments!

Thanks for taking a peek!

Opulent Poinsettia ~ CCMC369

Happy Thursday everyone!  It's time for a Create with Connie and Mary Sketch Challenge!

I was anxious to use some of my new goodies from my Holiday Catalog pre-order, and on this card I'm featuring a set called {Reason for the Season}.  It's got a beautiful two-step stamping poinsettia, which makes it come together in a snap!
My first thought was to place the die cut length wise to mimic the oval in the sketch, but after looking at it I felt like the flower looked better in the horizontal position.
The background paper is from the fabulous Winter Wonderland specialty DSP pack, as well as the two bottom banners.  This paper is so rich and opulent looking with the gold in it.  The littlest banner was punch from Black Glimmer Paper, which can also be found in the new Holiday Catalog.  The gold sequins are from the metallic sequin assortment, found in the regular catalog.

I hope you can find some time to play along with us for this weeks challenge!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!

Vibrant You're Sublime ~ CCMC368 & RS176

Good Thursday!  It's time for another Create with Connie and Mary Challenge!  We've got a vibrant color challenge for you this week.

I wanted to go in a fun direction with these fun colors so I chose to use {You're Sublime}.  This is the first time this little submarine has seen ink and it sure was fun to color!  I used my blender pen and ink pads.
I also chose to use the sketch 176 from Retro Sketches.  It worked perfect with my little submarine scene!
I do have a small confession to make....I didn't have any Tangerine Tango paper, so I had to go with Pumpkin Pie.  The Pumpkin Pie DSP I used is actually from the retired paper pack Polka Dot Parade.  It's a shade of orange anyway!  There is a little strip of scalloped orange beneath the polka dot piece.  I used the Dotted Scalloped border punch, which now that I look at the new catalog I see has been retired as well.  I'm not doing so hot here.  OOPS!
Let's focus on what IS new or current!
The Cucumber Crush DSP is from the new Cherry on Top paper stack.  I cut out a circle in Pacific Point CS with my circle die, and then ran it thru the big shot using the new Elegant Dots EF.  I like how it gives kind of a bubble effect.
I fussy cut the cute little submarine and fish after I colored them and popped them up on dimensionals.  I also added some Crystal Effects to the submarine windows.

Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
