Glittery Brilliance - PDCC137

Today's card is for The Play Date Cafe Challenge 137.  The colors are black & white with a splash of  blue.

Here's what I came up with....I was totally inspired by the silver flower in the inspiration photo.  I started out by cutting three flowers (two big and one small) out of my Blossom Party die in Brilliant Blue cardstock.  I sponged black ink on the edges of all three flowers.  Next I added a touch of glue on the tips of the flowers and sprinkled them with silver glitter.  I finished the flower off with an antique silver glitter brad from Making Memories.

I used Black Satin ribbon with a layer of braided silver cord to offset the pretty brocade looking patterened paper.
Here's a complete list of all the supplies.....
Stamps: none
Paper: Black, White, Brilliant Blue, Recolections patterened paper
Ink: Black
Accessories: Blossom Party die, Antiqued Silver Glitter brad, Black Satin ribbon, Silver braided cord, Silver glitter

Fresh Friday Flower - FMS40 & FM63

This card is for Freshly Made Sketches 40 & The Friday Mashup 63.

The Friday Mashup calls for using Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, & Pool Party and paper piecing.  I chose not to do the paper piecing part because I wanted to focus on watercoloring the challenge colors on the flower.

I used a my pool party marker on watercolor paper and blended the ink with my blender pen.  I used my rich razzleberry marker at the ends of the flower and blended it down into the pool party.  I love the effect it gives!  And, just like the sample flower, I made the center yellow.  I fussy cut the flower and spayed it with champagne shimmer mist.

I chose to not add any leaves or stems with this flower because I wanted it to be the star of the show.
Here's a list of supplies I used.....
Stamps: Fabulous Florets
Paper: Pool Party CS & DP, Rich Razzleberry, Vanilla, Watercolor paper
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party, Daffodil Delight, Black Stazon
Accessories: Labels die, Large Oval die, Framelits Labels die, Daffodil Delight Seam Binding ribbon, Champagne Shimmer mist, Vintage Wallpaper EF, Basic Rhinestones

American Made - JUGS141

Just Us Girls' Challenge 141 is a red, white and blue color challenge.
I've seen these 3-D stars around different places and always wondered how they were made.  While browsing Pinterest the other day I stumbled upon a tutorial on how do make them and boy is it simple!  I got this idea to make a flag card, and then I saw the JUGS challenge.  What a perfect match!  I love it when things work out like that!

Because this card is so simple and has little for embelishments, I embossed the blue square in a big polka-dot EF and the red strips in the Square Lattice EF.  With the 3-D star, this adds texture and visual interest.  I added a sentiment from Close To My Heart.

Stamps: You're a Star (CTMH)
Paper: Night of Navy, Real Red, White
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories: Stars #2 Die, Polka-dot & Square Lattice EF

Pool Party Posies - JAI122

Today's card is for Just Add Ink 122 where the instructions were to CASE Delys Cram.  Here is the card I chose to case....
I love the clean and simple design, with the added texture of the white on white border punch.  I changed my card up a little by adding a border around the main panel in the coordinating Pool Party color.  This was a quick and simple card to put together, but it still packs alot of punch with the texture, color and bling!

Here's a list of supplies I used.....
Stamps: Just Believe
Paper: White, Pool Party
Ink: Pool Party
Accessories: Lace Ribbon border punch, Three Flower punch, Basic Rhinestones

Another dual challenge upload for me today!  This one is for Create With Connie and Mary Color Challenge 206 & Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 245.

I am so pleased with the way this turned out!  The colors look so rich together.  I used my stamp pads and blender pen to color the flowers with Cherry Cobbler and the leaves Island Indigo.  I used Crumb Cake and outlined the whole image.  I chose to use black as my neutral and I love the way it adds a sophistication to the whole look.  The backround designer paper is from a retired pack called Bella Bleu.

Here's a list of supplies I used.....
Stamp: Apothecary Art
Paper: Black, Bella Bleu DP, Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Watercolor paper

For the Birds - SSSC160 & HSSTC122

Hi everyone!  What a beautiful day here in Northeast Montana!  It's the kind of day that makes you want to take a long walk and sing.....Gorgeous!  Enough about that, let's get down to business.  This card comes by the way of Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 160 & Hand Stamped Sentiments Theme Challenge 122.

I flipped the sketch on it's side and used the bird/peacock theme.  I've had this peacock feather embossing folder for a few months now (it came in a pack I  bought) and havn't had a chance to use it.  I was glad to finally break it out!  I tried to stick with peacock-ish colors, but added in some Rich Razzleberry, just because I like the way these colors look together. I see in the (crooked) photo, my ribbon looks crooked, which it isn't in real life.  That bums me out.  I think I may need to work on my photo skills.....

Apperently I have a thing for combining challenges....it must stem from my compultion to be a multitasker.  I've always felt if I can do more than one thing at a time, I'm really accomplishing something, which may not always be the truth, but a least I feel like it!  When I look back at my older posts, there are not very many that are for only one challenge.  And, I really get excited when I can combine three challenges.......is this a sickness?  I wonder.......haha!
Here's a list of the supplies I used for this card....
Stamps: Birds (Inkadinkadoo), Pun Fun
Paper: Island Indigo, Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade DP, White
Ink: Indigo, Razzleberry, Limeade
Accessories: Provocraft peacock EF, Everyday Enchantment brad, Razzleberry Polkadot ribbon

Am I Blue? - RS15 & CQC141

This pretty little blue number is for Retro Sketches 15 & Colour Q 141

I've actually had this main panel flower laying around my desk for quite a while now.  I made it to try out the layered marker techniqe.  After I was done coloring this little gem, I accidentaly dropped my polka dot backround stamp on it, so I just went with it and added more dots.  I hated to scrap this piece after going to all the trouble of coloring the image.  The color palette from the Colour Q was the perfect match for this image, so I went with it. I really had to search to find a piece of Brocade Blue....I think this was my very last piece.  It's such a pleasent color, isn't it?  I loved this sketch from Retro Sketches this week, but flipped it on it's side to accomodate my image.
Here's a list of supplies I used......
Stamps: Simply Soft, Polkadot & Paisley, On Your Birthday, Polkadot backround
Paper: Lucky Limeade, Night of Navy, Brocade Blue, White
Ink: Bashful Blue, Marina Mist, Night of Navy, White gel pen, Stazon Black
Accessories: Subltes button, Subtles brads, lime rik-rak, top note die, navy satin ribbon, square lattice EF
