It's Thursday and time for Create with Connie and Mary again! This weeks challenge is a bright, springy color challenge of Wisteria Wonder, Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay.
I'm also adding my card to the Anything Goes Challenge #181 at Addicted to Stamps and More.
I've been trying to use some of the Sale-a-bration products before they retire. I really love this big, bold sentiment from {Botanical For You}. I decided to take the three different sized flowers and coordinate them with the three colors in a cascading effect. After I stamped all the flowers, I stamped a few more on a scrap of white and fussy cut them out, folded the petals out and added a rhinestone to each center. I figured this would be a nice way to add texture and dimension to an otherwise flat looking card. I also embossed the sentiment with black EP.
I hope you'll find some time to play along with us over at Create with Connie and Mary!
Thanks for taking a peek and have a blessed day!
Jenny
Very pretty, love how you created the 3D effect with the flowers! I need to pull that set out and use it before it is gone! Great job with the color challenge this week!
ReplyDeleteThe use of the little flower to create a cascading background is very clever! Great card! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous effect! I love that you added the fussy-cut flowers, too - that is worth the effort here! So pretty!
ReplyDeleteWow Jenny - those fussy cut flowers look tricky, but are so worth it! They really bring this card to life. The cascading flowers and graduated colouring form a great background for that big, bold sentiment too. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove the cool ombre effect you have created here...love all the fluttering flowers and the ones you fussy cut popped out! Really fun card!
ReplyDeleteYour Anything Goes card for the ATSM challenge is sheer delight! Your pretty cascading blossoms, paired with the big sentiment: spectacular!

love how you added dimension to the background - thanks for joining us at ATSM
ReplyDeleteThis is the best card I've seen using the Botanicals for You stamp set! Love the simplicity ... but you've added lots and lots of interest by embossing the sentiment and adhering those extra blossoms! Great design and lovely color combination!
