Hello, hello! It's time for Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge! Challenge #348 calls for us to use the beautiful trio of Rose Red, Soft Sky and Sahara Sand!
The other CCMC designers have come up with some real good looking samples to inspire you! Make sure you check them all out!
When I first saw these colors I immediately thought winter....don't ask me why. Well, maybe it was the snowflake shapes....I don't know. Anyway, once I started playing around with a few butterflies and flowers I could see how these colors can go spring easily! They are just so darned pretty and soft together!
I also used the sketch from Retro Sketches 157 for my card this week. You could do just about anything under the sun with this sketch!
I used two of the Irresistibly Yours DSP, On the polka dot paper, I stamped the image right onto the paper in Sahara in and then used my blender pen to subtly color in some Rose Red on the petals of the flowers. I then sponged on some Soft Sky ink just over the flower in the corner. I very lightly stamped the honeycomb stamp across the bottom and then the "rope" image along the side. I added the medium size die cut butter fly in both Rose Red and Vellum. I like the softness that the vellum bring to the Rose Red color. I finished it off with a Something Borrowed embellishment.
I hope you get some time to play along with us this week! I can't wait to see what everyone does with these lovely colors!
Thanks for taking a peek!
Jenny
Jenny this is so very pretty! I love the way you stamped and coloured the distressed central panel - so beautiful behind that fabulous embellished butterfly.
ReplyDeleteSO many pretty details on here! I love that you stamped on the polka dot DSP! Love that look! Great job with the color challenge this week!
ReplyDeleteWhat great layers and gorgeous stamping and shading on the polka dot dsp! I also love how you toned down the Rose Red on the butterfly with a vellum layer - very pretty!! This is a "wow" card!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully designed and colored!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, Jenny. Your card is beautiful! The layered butterfly is a lovely contrast to the soft colors of the flowers. And I love the distressed edges.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card. I really love that butterfly.
ReplyDeleteGreat vintage look and feel! Love the way the butterfly takes center stage while the other elements are soft and muted.
